We, WAVE Corporation (hereinafter “Company”, “we”, “WAVE”, “us”, or “our”) have established the following Privacy Policy to actively guarantee the User’s right to control one’s own personal information based on Article 30 of Personal Information Protection Act, and to handle related issues in a fast manner.
b. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may modify our Privacy Policy from time to time for various reasons including to improve our privacy practices, to reflect changes to our Service, and to comply with relevant laws. This Privacy Policy was first released on February 28, 2022, and was last updated on February 28, 2022,.

2. Purpose of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we will process and safeguard your personal information, and the rights and choices you have with respect to your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to: personal information you provide us when you use the WAVE App (“App” or “Service”), personal information about you provided by other users of the Service, optional services made available within the WAVE App, and other apps that integrate with or work in conjunction with the WAVE (Collectively “Apps”); personal information we collect when you visit websites maintained by us relating to our Apps (“Websites.” Apps and Websites are collectively referred to as “Services”); and. If you are using the Service outside of Korea, the English version of the Privacy Policy shall be applied.
3. Types of Personal Information We Collect

What Personal Information Does WAVE Collect?
To provide you Services, WAVE collects, uses, and transfers the following types of information:
a.
Information Concerning Your Account
When you create a WAVE account in order to access the Services (an “Account”), you may choose to create an Account using your phone number, Google or Facebook Account.
WAVE will ask you to provide your Account information(phone number, Google, Facebook). This information is necessary because we may send a text message via SMS to the phone number you provide, as part of our ongoing efforts to detect and deter unauthorized or fraudulent use of or abuse of Services. We may also use your registered phone number to provide you important information about our Services.
b.
Device Information and Access Logs When You Use Our Service
When you use Services, we may obtain and maintain certain electronic identification or log data that is automatically provided by your device such as: device type, OS type, IP address, browser information including type and language settings, device identifier, cookie data, advertising identifier or mobile application identifier.
This information is necessary as part of our ongoing efforts to detect and deter unauthorized or fraudulent use of, or abuse of, Services, as well as to provide you with customized options, and optimize the Service for your device. Also, please note that a third party advertising identifier may be associated with your Account through our internal identifier.
c.
Information on How You Interact With the Service, Such As Your Preferences
We may obtain information that are unable to identify an individual such as specific profile information including your country of residence and preference. Also, WAVE may collect information on your usage of the Service and how you interact with the App/Website (Conformity, Conformity time, Concurrent connection history, SMS, Regional usage, Device and connection information, IP address, Device features, Bandwidth, Page view statistics, Network type and Traffic within the App/website). This information is used to prevent fraudulent usage of the Service and to improve the Service.
d.
Information to Prevent User’s Damage
Information such as usage records and related evidence may be collected in an automated manner through reports from affected users, etc., in order to block and prevent actions that may harm other users against the law or Terms Of Use. In the event of another user’s report, the information stored on the device of the reporting user or the other party’s device(such as usage screen, conversation history, etc.) may be transmitted to the server designated by the Company, and based on this, it is determined whether the user has violated laws and terms of conditions, and take appropriate measures as needed. The above information will be deleted after the objective has been achieved.
2.
What Other Information Might WAVE Collect?
To improve the quality of Services, we provide additional functionalities, including the ability to access your Account from multiple devices, help you find friends via the Service, and to make Services more efficient, usable and enjoyable. If you choose to use such functionalities, or choose to use your Account on multiple devices, we may ask you to provide the following information:
a.
Username
In order to make it easier for your friends to find you within the Services, you should assign a Username (a “Username”) to your Account, and allow your friends to find you through your username. – it does not have to be your real name, and you may also randomly set your Username with a combination of lowercase letters and a few special symbols.
b.
Contact Phone Numbers in Your Address Book [OPTIONAL]
To make it easier to find your friends using Services, you can use the “Find Friends from Contact” feature in the WAVE App. If you choose to enable the feature, we will collect the phone numbers in your mobile device’s address book, and enable you to add friends in the Services who have consented to being found via their phone number. We will collect information from only the phone number fields in your mobile device’s address book; we do not collect contact names or any information from other data fields. As noted above, if you choose to provide us with your phone number, other users may be able to find you using the “Find Friends from Contact” feature.
If you would like to invite individual friends or contacts to connect with you using the WAVE App, you may send them invitations directly via SMS, E-mail or via various applications installed within your mobile device. When you use the invitation function in the WAVE App, we will access your address book to identify your friends. After your friend(s) have been identified, you can send invitations directly to individual friends and contact them via SMS or e-mail on your mobile device phone. WAVE does not automatically send invitations as part of the Invite Friends feature.
c.
Contact Information for Customer Support [OPTIONAL]
There may be circumstances in which you might wish to contact us to seek our customer support. If you contact us via our Customer Center feature in the WAVE app, or by other means, we may obtain and maintain any information you choose to provide, including your name, contact info such as your email address, phone number, as well as information about your mobile device or personal computer such as its device type, and OS type. We will use this information to address and investigate the issues you have raised, to provide you support, and to improve our customer support service. We may process this information in connection with the assistance you have requested, the administration of your Account, and retain this information in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy.
d.
Information and Reports on Errors
In case of Service crash or shutdown, WAVE may collect information on error reports to investigate the error and to improve the Service stability for future release. Generally, these reports do not or only partly include Personal Identifiable Information. As part of these error reports, we receive information on Device type or version, Device Identifier, Time of error occurrence, Functions in use and Application program status on time of error. We do not use the information for purposes other than to investigate and fix errors.
e.
Outbound Link
If you have accessed a third-party provided website, product, or service within the Service, the third party may also collect information about you. For more information on how they use the information collected, please refer to the third party’s Privacy Policy (4.e). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the exchange of information between you and any third parties.
f.
Collection of information upon User Reports
Information on each user’s account at the time of clicking the user report button, user’s capture screen, reporting user and other users’ accounts (3. a. i.)
g.
Information on legal representative for the consent of legal representative (name, gender, date of birth, phone number, telecommunications service provider, citizen/foreigner, connecting information (CI), duplication information (DI))

What About Information I Create About Myself and Share With Others?
a.
User-Generated Content [OPTIONAL]
The Company may collect and utilize user-generated contents (photos, usage of contents, screenshots, opinion and others).
In addition to the information described above, you may choose to set your profile information (e.g., username, “display name,” profile picture) and show who you are to other WAVE users within Services. Furthermore, you may choose to create “user-generated content” such as photos, videos, and share this user-generated content with other users. You may choose how much or little of your user-generated content to share, and with whom you share it, when you create messages by selecting the recipients of your user-generated content and/or through the privacy settings in the WAVE App.
Please note that the profile information and user-generated content you share with others can be copied, stored, or distributed by the recipients and potentially accessed by unintended third party recipients due to the nature of digital data. We encourage you to be very attentive and cautious when you generate and share your personal information or content with others.
4. How We Use and Handle Your Information

How Does WAVE Use My Information?
To provide Services and any Additional Services, WAVE, as a data controller or joint data controller, uses your personal information for the following purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy:

to provide Services and any Additional Services to you and to allow you to transmit your user-generated content to other WAVE users;
•
to verify your identity;
•
to allow you to use your Account on multiple devices and transfer your Account to another device;
•
to help you find people you know that are already WAVE users so that you can connect using WAVE and, subject to your prior agreement, to allow other WAVE users to connect with you;
•
to enable you to sync other applications offered by WAVE, WAVE affiliates, and WAVE business partners together with your Account and to share information between the applications you use;
•
to respond to requests you may make to use Additional Services;
•
to monitor, detect and deter unauthorized or fraudulent use of, or abuse of, Services;
•
to improve and/or optimize Services and any Additional Services;
•
to enable us to provide customer support, and to respond effectively to your inquiries and claims;
•
to conduct user surveys;
•
to process or provide to a third party collected and pseudonymized personal information for purposes of statistics records, scientific research, public record retention, etc. Here, pseudonymized information is stored and managed separately to prevent re-linkage to the user’s identity and implements technical, administrative and physical safeguards.
•
to provide you with information regarding Services and any Additional Services;
•
to measure the effectiveness of advertisements that we place on the Internet or in other media;
•
to notify you of any other important information regarding Services and any Additional Services, if necessary;
•
to identify winners of promotional contests, to send gifts to those winners, and to deliver purchased products and services;
•
to aggregate anonymized statistical data regarding Services and any Additional Services
•
to comply with applicable laws or legal obligations; and •to confirm the consent of legal representatives when collecting personal information of children under the age of 13 and to verify their identity when exercising the rights of legal representatives.

The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.”
When we collect personal information from users, we will notify you of the purpose of use more specifically through various means, and such notice shall take precedence over the general purpose of use.
2.
How Does WAVE Protect My Personal Information?
We use database and security protocol that Google, Inc. Amazon Web Service provide to protect Users’ personal information.
Because no method of electronic transmission or method of data storage is perfect or impenetrable, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will be absolutely safe from intrusion during transmission or while stored in our systems.
To protect Users’ privacy and confidentiality of your personal information, we also need Users’ help. Users may not not share accounts with others, and if there is suspicion of fraudulent use of your account or other security violations, please contact our Customer Service.
3.
How Long Does WAVE Keep My Information?
In principle, WAVE destructs personal information of users when users delete their account or withdraw from the Service. However, we may retain your personal information while your Account is active (for the length of time needed to fulfill any of the applicable purposes of use described in this Privacy Policy) or to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
We may retain your personal information following the closure or termination of your Account if retention is reasonably necessary:

to comply with applicable laws, regulations or legal obligations;
•
to provide and complete customer support service;
•
to resolve disputes between or with WAVE users (in case of collection of information upon user reports, for the duration of 3 years from withdrawal of Service), for the duration of the applicable limitation period; or
•
to detect and deter unauthorized or fraudulent use of, or abuse of, Services.
4.
Does WAVE Use Outside Service Providers or Agents?
To provide Services, it sometimes is necessary for WAVE to enlist third party service providers to process user data, which may include your personal information. In this case, we strictly evaluate all such third party service providers. We take reasonable steps to ensure that they have established appropriate and secure information administration and organizational control systems. We impose binding contractual obligations on such service providers to comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding the processing of personal information. We also require that they access your personal information only to the extent necessary to perform tasks in accordance with our instructions, and for no other purposes.

Does WAVE Give My Information to Third Parties?
Other than as described in this Privacy Policy and other applicable privacy policies or addendums, WAVE will not provide your information to any third parties without your consent, unless we believe in good faith that we are required or permitted to do so under applicable laws.

We may also share aggregated or anonymous information with third parties, including advertisers and investors. For example, we may tell advertisers how many users the app receives. This information does not contain any personal or personal identifiable information and is used to develop content and services that may interest you.
•
We may remove some data that identifies you and may share anonymous data with other stakeholders. The Company may combine your information with other information and share aggregated information in a way that is no longer relevant to you.
Those who can choose to share your user content :
•
Information or content that you voluntarily disclose to the public, such as user content, is open to the general public. After you share or make your content public, other users can share it again.
•
Even if you remove information and content (e.g. screenshots, etc.) generated by the Service, copies can be seen on the service’s cached and archived pages, or shared if other users or third parties have copied or saved the information (e.g., Facebook). Etc.).
6.
Does WAVE Use Cookies or Other Similar Technologies?
We use cookies and similar local storage technologies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when visiting a website. This text file stores information that can be read by the website when visiting it again at a later date. Some of these cookies are necessary because otherwise the site is unable to function properly. Other cookies are convenient for the visitor: they remember your username in a secure way as well as your language preferences, for example. Cookies mean that you do not need to fill out the same information each time you visit a website.
We use cookies:

to help us maintain your session when you use Services and/or any Additional Service;
•
to enhance security of our systems;
•
to speed up app loading;
•
to store your preferences and provide customized services to you; and
•
to help us understand how people use Services and to improve them.
By continuing to use Services, you consent to our use of cookies and similar technologies in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Most Internet browsers allow you to control whether or not to accept cookies. If, however, you deactivate cookies or limit the ability to set cookies, you may not be able to obtain the full benefit of the Website or access all of its functions, which may limit your overall user experience.
5. Provision and Commission of Collected Personal Information

Data Provision
In principle, the Company does not provide personal information without the consent of Users. However, personal information may be provided to third parties upon the user’s consent within the extent necessary for the user to use the services of WAVE’s partner companies or demanded by applicable laws.
2.
Provision & Entrustment of Personal Information
WAVE entrusts part of its operations to third-party businesses in order to provide better services and regulate matters, as well as exercises both management and supervision, necessary to ensure that the entrusted companies safely process personal information in accordance with the Information and Communications Network Act.
※ For some services, an external Content Provider (CP) entrusted with the company may provide customer consultation on the use of services such as payment and refund.
3.
Overseas Users
User’s information may be stored and processed in any country where the company maintains and manages service facilities, including Korea. In this regard or in accordance with this Privacy Policy, the Company reserves the right to transfer information outside of the user’s country. By using the service, you consent to the transfer of such information outside of your country.
6. Your Choices, Your Rights
There is a possibility that WAVE may obtain personal information relating to individuals who are currently not users of Services. Please note that, regardless of whether or not you are a user of Services, you have the choices and rights set out in this section if we hold your personal information.

How Do I Control My Information?
Subject to applicable law (including any exemptions or derogations under such law), you may have a right to access your personal information, to have errors in your personal information rectified, and to object to the processing of your personal information on legitimate grounds.
You can exercise some of these rights directly within the WAVE App at any time. For example:

under your “Edit My Profile” in “Settings” in the App, you can confirm and/or revise your phone number, display name and profile picture;
•
under your “Edit My Profile” in “Settings” in the App, you can confirm and/or revise your registered username
To exercise any of your other rights under applicable law, you may contact us using the Contact Form. Upon verification of your identity, we will respond to your request within a reasonable period of time, and in accordance with relevant law. If you would like to send us a written request, please refer to Section 12 for our mailing address.
2.
What If I Change My Mind?
If you change your mind regarding how much information you wish to continue to share or disclose on Services going forward, you can always change the settings in the WAVE App relating to, for example:
•
your profile information (e.g., your profile picture, your display name, or a personal phrase shown under the status message); Also, User may withdraw from the Service at any time.
7. Procedure and Method of Destruction of Personal Information
The Company destructs the information immediately after the purposes of its collection and use have been achieved without delay.
1.
Destruction Procedure
If any information is to be retained as required by relevant laws and regulations, the Company retains it for the period as required by those laws and regulations before destruction and, in such event, the personal information which is stored and managed separately will never be used for other purposes.
2.
Destruction Method
The Company destructs: hard copies of personal information by shredding with a pulverizer or incinerating it; and deletes personal information stored in the form of electric file by using technological methods making that information not restored.
8. Period for Retention and Use of Personal Information
In principle, the Company destructs personal information of users without delay when: the purpose of its collection and use has been achieved; the legal or management needs are satisfied; or users request: Provided that, if it is required to retain the information by relevant laws and regulations, the Company will retain member information for certain period as designated by relevant laws and regulations. The information to be retained as required by relevant laws and regulations are as follows:

Record regarding contract or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years (The Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
•
Record on payment and supply of goods: 5 years (The Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
•
Record on consumer complaint or dispute treatment: 3 years (The Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
9. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Your Rights
User may confirm and/or revise their personal information on “Settings” → “Edit My Profile” at any time.
•
User may withdraw his/her consent from collecting and using their personal information through “Delete this account“ at any time.
•
For Children under 13 years of age, the legal representative shall have the right to confirm and/or revise the child’s personal information, and to withdraw the consent for collection and usage.
•
If a user requests correction of an error on personal information, we do not use or provide such personal information until the correction is completed. Also, if the wrong personal information has already been provided to a third party, we will make sure to correct the information by notifying the third party on the result of the correction without delay.
10. Measures for Protection of Personal Information
In order to prevent the loss, theft, leakage, alteration or damage of personal information of the users, the Company takes technical, managerial and physical measures for securing safety as follows:

Appoint a staff responsible for protecting personal information, ensure safe storage of record of access to personal information processing system, classify the level of authority to access to personal information processing system, provide education and training for staffs treating personal information

Technical Measures
Utilize security servers for transmitting encryption of personal information, take measures of encryption for confidential information, install and operate access control devices and equipments, establish and execute internal management plan
3.
Physical Measures
Store documents and backing storage containing personal information in safe places which have locking device
